Absolutely fantastic weather.
First of all we are thinking of Kerry Murphy who was taken to hospital by ambulance on saturday and was in ISU, out thoughts are with you Kerry and your jovial sense of humour was missed on the p.a on Sunday.
We used Te Rapa as a schooling show for our upper level horses just cantering them around in preperation for Taupo in a month.
In the novice/intermediate Donna ran Sensation who did a super soft test, Tangalooma is starting to step up in the dressage and scored a 30 which we were happy with. They both jumped double clean and cantered around the xc.
The Pre novice we had Waitangi My Space who ran well and Just Chocolate who is coming back in from a brief spell after HOY and ran very well also.
The Training we had a nice line up of classy thoroughbreds with Balmoral Ayres Rock, Marwood and Kahlua who all ran well for where they are at for young horses.
In the Pre Training Trilly also preformed exceptionallly well with a double clear.
Tess rode Weeman in the novice and jumped clear, they are reaaly starting to form a partnership now. Alex rode Alpha Romeo in the pre novice for a nice clear slow canter around as well as Balmoral Corlando in the training who we were very pleased with.
Rebel Morrows Balmoral Tall Jan has been sold to Trans Tasman senior team Member Christen Hayde, we will see them out in the near future. Jan is by the same Australian Holstiener sire as Balmoral Oakey/B Fiddlesticks and full sister B Couger Pedy.
Joe and Carol Kann have brought a half share in B Fiddlesticks, they now have ownership in 3 very nice horses being Fiddles, B Sensation and B Ayres Rock.
Nick brooks has stolen our american working student off us till end of Taupo and beyond…….. Izzy will now be based with our surrogate little brother Nick in Cambridge.
We have our Pre Training horse trials here this weekend to finish the babys up for the year, this event is sponsored by “Spurs” saddlery in Pukekohe. The Event also has practise showjump rounds and will have two rings up and running starting from baby hight through to what you need. There will also be some upper level riders to help you if happen to need some help. Come for the weekend!!!
The woolshed is coming along very nicely and looking more homely every day!!!!!! It is actually good to have the office on the yard.(we have to keep thinking of the positives)
Sad news for us is Billy our goat passed away friday as we were pulling out for Te Rapa,
R.I.P Billy you had a great life.
